Constanza is the founder of Jardín Secreto, a magical place hidden somewhere in Santa Elena, nestled in the Andean mountains of Antioquia. In this place Constanza consciously grows and wild-crafts medicinal plants, offers workshops, gatherings and medicines that are born through ancestral ways of medicine making.
Constanza was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. At 13 years old she moved to New England with her family, where she studied art & design at Massachusetts College of Art, Herbalism and Plant Spirit Medicine in the states of Massachusetts and Vermont. She received her training and education in phytotherapy and plant spirit medicine at the School of Gaia, VT after she began her path with the plants in June of 2011.
Since 2016 she resides in the mountains of Antioquia Colombia with her husband, two dogs and gardens.
Constanza’s methodology is to above all have the uttermost respect for the plants, ancestral and indigenous teachings. Her way of sharing, growing, harvesting and creating is based on traditions passed on by her greatest inspiration: her grandmother Nancy, whom has taught her the importance of Earth guardianship and protecting native seeds.
In workshops, conferences and her social media platform Constanza often refers to “us” when describing who is behind Jardín Secreto. This “us” she refers to describes the work that Constanza does alongside the wisdom, generosity and permission of the plants. Beyond this collaborative relationship, Constanza’s intention is to always honor the Land where she grows her food as medicine, the local farmers who provide essential raw materials, the womens’ circles and community that inspire her work, and of course her partner, who has supported her journey and the creation of Jardín Secreto since day one.
Constanza’s purpose through Jardín Secreto is to share medicines, experiences and spaces that honor the importance of regenerative relationships with nature, as well as an endless reverence for Mother Earth.
In Jardín Secreto we work in service to the Plants and not in service to destructive systems of consumerism and capitalism.
